Little diners: The Cliftonville Hotel

Family-friendly dining with our little living crew
Words: Rachel Bowles
For this issue, we visited the recently renovated Cliftonville Hotel in Cromer. They’ve managed to retain beautiful Edwardian period features whilst injecting a modern and comfortable feel. The owners are conscious of being a family friendly venue, and our visit certainly confirmed this sentiment.
Zachary and Eliza were greeted with tabletop games, a bag full of Lego, and colouring books to keep them entertained. There were plenty of bay window seat tables to allow views of the sea and to watch the world go by. The children’s menu offers a good choice of firm favourites at reasonable prices. Eliza chose the battered haddock, chips and mushy peas (£6), and as it was a Sunday, Zachary opted for the roast chicken with sage and onion stuffing (£9.50), which got a big thumbs up from him. Eliza’s fish was flaky and full bodied, with crispy batter.
Children’s dessert choices include a brownie, ice creams, sorbets, and a fruit salad, all priced at just £4 each. Zachary loves sticky toffee pudding so decided to order this from the adult menu, priced at £7. We found the dining experience here so relaxing, and the children were welcomed by friendly and attentive staff.
