SALT glass studios festive courses

Wizard of Oz, Sheringham

Panto-goers at Sheringham Little Theatre will be taken on a musical “road trip” in an action-packed Wizard of Oz show with surprises, special effects, puppets, and songs. Adults £18, children £13, family ticket also available; 01263 822347

Holkham Christmas Workshop – Gingerbread Creations

Wells & Walsingham Light Railway Santa Specials

All aboard the Santa Express to meet Father Christmas in his carriage grotto. Fare includes a gift for every child, a festive tipple and a mince pie! Trains from Wells Station at 11am, 1pm & 3pm; adults and children 5-15 years £12, 4s and under £4. Booking required. 01328 711630. Festive Food Fair in The Lady Elizabeth Wing, Holkham

A delicious collection of food and drink from the best of local and regional producers. Stock up on ingredients for your own Christmas feast, or find plenty of treats for the food lovers on your gift list. ‘It’s Not All About Turkey’ – a cookery theatre with a difference featuring demonstrations from local chefs, yuletide musical entertainment will mean you’ll be feeling truly festive! Tickets: Free entry – no need to book, just go along. There is a £3 car parking charge in Holkham park which is redeemable on purchases of £12 of more in the courtyard gift shop or café.

Stories and sleighbells, Blickling

Meet the mischievous elves in the Great Hall then climb the grand staircase up to the Long Gallery, where Father and Mother Christmas will be waiting for you by the fireside. Enjoy Christmas storytelling, a chat with the man in red and a present. Ramble and Roast, NWT Cley Marshes
The perfect Sunday. A guided stroll around the reserve taking in the sights and sounds of winter wildlife on the North Norfolk Coast. Then head back to the centre to warm up with a home cooked Sunday roast and delicious pudding.

Guided Walk of the Holkham National Nature Reserve

Join one of the wardens on a guided walk around the Holkham National Nature Reserve starting at Lady Anne’s Drive, taking in seasonal highlights & points of interest. Tickets: £5 per person. Carols on the Quay, Cley-next-the-Sea

Gather at the quay in Cley and sing along to all your festive favourites to raise money for the Cley Old Harbour Project. Christmas Farmers’ Markets at Creake Abbey 

Celebrating the abundance of seasonal food and drink from Norfolk and a few miles beyond with a distinctly festive feel. Producers include local butchers including EH Prior & Sons, venison from Fen Farm Venison and pork from Mr Wright of Thurgarton, bakers including Bread Source with artisan sourdough, grocers with seasonal produce, cheese and other dairy products, cakes, pastries, puddings, local beers including from Panther Brewery of Reepham, speciality spirits and much more. Fakenham Town Band

Nothing says Christmas more than belting out a carol or two with a glass of mulled wine in hand. Pop down to Fakenham Market Place on Christmas Eve to join the Town Band for a singalong.

Christmas Day Swim

If you’re feeling brave, head to the Promenade at Hunstanton to take part in the annual Christmas Day Swim. You’ll need to register prior to the event and any sponsorship money raised must be given to Round Table for distribution.

New Year’s Day Brunch followed by Quiz Night at the Creake Abbey Café 

Brunch 11am to 4pm and Quiz 4pm to 7pm (booking essential). Relax at the Creake Abbey Café for brunch on New Year’s Day with a menu especially prepared by our Head Chef.  With options for all tastes and music by local duo, Ed & Laura.
